Meet Karin Hong

I’m the founder of Bantam Wise LLC, a consulting practice dedicated to helping organizations strengthen their finance, HR, and operational foundations so they can focus on what matters most—their mission.

With over a decade of experience in nonprofit finance, HR, and operations—including serving in leadership roles such as Director of HR, Operations & Administration and Interim CFO—I bring both strategic insight and hands-on execution to my work.

My work is rooted in a genuine passion for supporting nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. I understand the unique challenges they face, from navigating compliance requirements to managing limited resources, and I bring a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to every engagement.

I’m known for my attention to detail and my ability to quickly identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies. Whether reviewing financial processes, improving internal controls, or streamlining operations, I focus on delivering work that is both precise and practical.

What sets my approach apart is the ability to bridge both finance and HR. Strong financial systems and effective people operations are deeply interconnected, and by integrating both perspectives, I help organizations implement solutions that are not only compliant and efficient, but also sustainable and people-centered.

At the same time, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Some of the most effective outcomes come from thinking beyond standard approaches. I enjoy troubleshooting complex problems and developing creative, “outside-the-box” solutions tailored to each organization’s needs and capacity.
